No FIFA 14 on Wii U due to Weak FIFA 13 Sales
Electronic Arts has confirmed that it won't be bringing the upcoming FIFA 14 football simulator onto the Nintendo Wii U due to the weak sales registered by FIFA 13 on that platform.
EA has distanced itself from Nintendo's Wii U platform, Buy Cheap Fifa 13 Coins confirming that it has no games in development for the home console, and then a software engineer criticized the company for its strategy with the Wii U.
Now, EA's Sports division has shed some light on why the new FIFA 14 simulator won't be making its way onto the Wii U.
According to a spokesperson who talked with Eurogamer, Cheap Fifa 13 Coins for sale for the Wii U, which was a launch-day game, registered "disappointing" sales, so the company has decided to no longer bring FIFA 14 to the Wii U.
No other details were given but it's likely that EA's decision to abandon the Wii U was also due to the low sales registered by other games it brought to the console, like Mass Effect 3 Special Edition or Need for Speed: Most Wanted. |
