In the past, Blizzard has tried to make its legacy content releases mimic the schedule they followed when the content originally came out in the mid-2000s. But this special circumstance makes it slightly more difficult to determine when we might see these raids.
And much like the original version of Classic released two years ago, The Burning Crusade’s content is going to be released in different phases across several months. With Phase Two of TBC Classic on the horizon, players are gearing up for the expansion’s first major content update since launch.
As in WoW (buy now € 14.99) Classic, we want to dare to take a look again in TBC Classic and tell you which loot highlights await you in "SSC" and "TK". Look forward to strong class-animal sets, class-specific pieces of jewelry and a very special mount.
PvP Rewards
- Outland factions’ PvP gear now unlocks with Phase 2 and requires Revered reputation to purchase.
- These are items sold in Thrallmar, Honor Hold, Cenarion Expedition, The Sha’tar, Lower City, and the Keepers of Time.
- The reputation requirement will be adjusted to Honored when Sunwell Plateau is released, to match the original Burning Crusade patch 2.4.
- Honor will not be reset at the beginning of Season 2. When Season 1 ends, there will be a two-week off-season period. When Season 2 begins, any remaining unspent Arena points will be converted to Honor Points at a rate of: 1 Arena Point = 10 Honor Points.
New factions and open-world content
If you’re used to the modern version of World of Warcraft, the first update after the launch of an expansion usually brings about a massive new zone with tons of new quests. That wasn’t the case in The Burning Crusade. Instead, the only new open-world content that players will have the luxury of playing comes in the form of daily quests for two new factions: Ogri’la and the Sha’tari Skyguard. The latter of those factions rewards players with the iconic Nether Ray mounts for hitting the Exalted reputation rank. The Nether Rays stand out as some of the most well-made mounts in The Burning Crusade and are definitely worth grinding reputation for in Phase Two.
The tier 5 class sets
As in phase 1, some selected raid bosses from TBC Classic phase 2 will drop tokens for certain classes and armor slots, which you can then exchange for the respective parts of your tier 5 class set at the already known NPCs in Shattrath . Thanks to the PTR, we already know:
- Raufgar, Gruul and Magtheridon will each drop two Tier 4 tokens per kill with Phase 2.
- Leotheras, Karathress, Lady Vashj, Leerhäscher and Kael'thas will drop two tokens from the Tier 5 sets from the start.
-
Raid Rewards
- High King Maulgar, Gruul the Dragonkiller, and Magtheridon will drop two Tier 4 tokens each when Serpentshrine Cavern and The Eye are released.
- Leothoras the Blind, Fathom-Lord Karathress, Lady Vashj, Void Reaver, and Kael’thas Sunstrider will drop 2 Tier 5 tokens each.
While Black Temple dropped just 18 weeks after the original launch of TBC, the staggering of early raid releases make it logical that we could have 12 to 15 weeks of Tier Four followed by a similar amount of time dedicated to Tier Five for a more appropriate spread of content than what players got in 2007.
